On November 15, 2011, the Hudson Square Connection held its Second Annual Meeting at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. We had a great turn out from the local business community, but it wasn’t just all business, it was also a celebration of the neighborhood. We honored Michael Dorf of City Winery for creating and hosting the Hudson Square Music and Wine Festival for the past three years, and Jacques Torres treated us to stories and a sampling of his chocolates.

In addition to the some official business, we announced the winner of the second annual Connection Award. This year, Michael Dorf, owner of City Winery was the recipient of the award for his contribution to the community in the form of the Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival and his Hudson Square branded, Hudson Square made fine wines.

Scott Stowell, graphic designer and owner of Open also talked about new ways for the Hudson Square community to share their input on how we should transform our neighborhood’s streetscape. In addition a “mobilization kit” that companies can get just by calling the Connection (the first 10 are free!), we’re also launching #HudsonSquareIs and a companion website where you can tell us what you think!

And the meeting was also a great party where neighbors could taste our local wines, eat our local chocolates, sample great catering from Great Performances and connect with one another.
