Freeman Plaza West originally opened in 2013, and underwent a renovation in 2018. An 900-square foot turf lawn, additional seating and umbrellas, Freeman Plaza West is a popular spot in the neighborhood to hang out, clear your mind and let your imagination fly. The space has been modified to accommodate social distancing and to provide the community with more critical outdoor space.

Freeman Plaza West features:

  • 900 SF turf lawn
  • Custom painted ping-pong table (Use our paddles or bring your own!)
  • Solar powered charging station (charge your phone for free!)
  • A Little Free Library including books and magazines
  • Rotating menu of lawn and board games

Freeman Plaza West is open seasonally spring – fall,  seven days a week, from 8am-dusk.
There are two entrances on Hudson Street – one near Watts Street the other closer to Broome Street.
Freeman Plaza West is owned and operated by the Port Authority of NY&NJ.
