The Hudson Square Business Improvement District, Inc. d/b/a the Hudson Square BID (“HSBID” or “BID”) takes seriously the issue of safeguarding your privacy on-line. This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect and how it will be used to better serve you. By using this site, www.hudsonsquarebid.org (the “Site”), you agree to the collection and use of your information by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site.

Who owns the Site?

The Site is owned by HSBID, and the data collected on the Site belongs exclusively to the BID.

Information We Collect

“Personally identifiable information” refers to information that directly identifies you, such as your name, zip code and e-mail address. HSBID will not collect personally identifiable information about you when you visit the Site unless you voluntarily provide us with that information. We may request personally identifiable information from you if you wish, for example, to join a mailing list or participate in a survey. HSBID may use that information for such purposes as fulfilling your requests for our information or services, communicating information that may be of interest to you (such as information about events and happenings in and around Hudson Square, as well as information from other businesses within the district) and conducting surveys. HSBID will not share your personally identifiable information with third-parties except as set forth below under “Sharing Your Information.”

“Non-personally identifiable information” refers to information that does not identify you but which can be used to track certain internet conduct. When you visit HSBID’s Site, we may automatically collect and store information sent by your web browser, such as IP addresses (i.e., the Internet address of your computer) in server logs. This information, which does not identify you personally, is aggregated and used to help diagnose problems and suggest points for improving parts of our Site. With Whom Do We Share This Information

HSBID will not sell, rent, or share your personally identifiable information and will treat it in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, except that HSBID reserves the right to share such information in only the following limited ways:

First, we share your information with certain third-party vendors who help us with fulfillment of site administration. These vendors are contractually obligated to use this information for the sole purposes of assisting us with a specific project.

Second, HSBID reserves the right to share your personally identifiable information if requested by law enforcement or as otherwise required by law.

Third, as authorized by you.

Email Lists & Opt-Out

Our Site gives users the opportunity to freely subscribe to our electronic mailing lists. The identity of subscribers and their corresponding email addresses are not sold or provided to outside advertisers, direct mail concerns other email list services, etc (unless you specifically authorize us to do so). To unsubscribe to any email list send an email to info@hudsonsquarebid.org. In addition, any promotional e-mail from the Hudson Square BID will include opt-out information. Please note that changes to your preferences may not be effective immediately.

Surveys, Contests and Sweepstakes

From time-to-time, we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys, contests or sweepstakes on our site. If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys, contests or sweepstakes is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Only individuals age 18 or over are eligible to participate.

As part of the surveys, contests or sweepstakes, we will typically request your contact information. We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes, to monitor site traffic or personalize the site (in the case of anonymous information collected in surveys), and to send participants email newsletters or alerts.
We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys, contests or sweepstakes; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose. Photos, Social Media Posts, Fun Facts and Quotes

Some surveys, contests or sweepstakes may request that you contribute additional information, such as photos, social media posts, quotes or fun facts (“Contributions”), for posting on our website or other promotional materials. Contributions may contain personally identifiable information about you, such as your name, photograph or likeness. However, we will always obtain your permission before posting your Contributions or using your Contributions in our website or any of our promotional materials. By providing your consent, you agree that (i) you are providing your Contributions voluntarily, (ii) your Contributions are accurate, (iii) you are authorized by any relevant third-party (e.g., your employer) to provide your Contributions for posting on our website or inclusion in other promotional materials, (iv) your Contributions to do not violate the privacy, publicity, personal or intellectual property rights or other rights of third parties, (v) your Contributions are not confidential or proprietary and we are not under any obligation of confidentiality with respect to your Contributions, (vi) we are entitled to use or disclose (or choose not to use or disclose) such Contributions for any purpose, in any way, in any media worldwide, (vii) you irrevocably non-exclusively license to us the rights to exploit your Contributions; and (viii) you are not entitled to any compensation or reimbursement of any kind from us under any circumstances. Only individuals age 18 or over are eligible to participate. Note that posts on social media sites are subject the social media site’s privacy policy.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy in whole or in part at any time. The modified policy will be posted with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site following any changes to the Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such changes.

Links

The Site may contain links to other sites that are not controlled by HSBID, including, among others, websites of retailers and restaurants in Hudson Square, advertisers, and other third-parties. Your use of such websites will be subject to the privacy statements of those websites, which we encourage you to read. HSBID is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such websites and does not make any representations about them.

In addition, we may offer you the option to sign-up for email offers and promotions from retailers, restaurants and other businesses in Hudson Square. This option is offered free-of-charge as a service to the neighborhood. HSBID is not responsible for the email practices or content of emails sent by or on behalf of such third-parties and does not make any representations about them.

Security

Please note that while we work hard to protect the security of your information, HSBID cannot provide an absolute guarantee as to the security of any information you transmit through the Site, and that you do so at your own risk.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of 13 (“children”). We take children’s privacy seriously, and encourage parents to take an active role in protecting their children’s privacy and online experience at all times.
