Local & Vine, turns the blues red and white
Birthplace of The Blues Brothers housing high end wine bar, serving pairings by Alex Clifford, former sommelier at Michelin-starred, Marea
NEW YORK, NOW OPEN, new west Soho wine bar, Local & Vine, offering an array of local wines, craft beers and carefully sourced ‘aperitivi’ to the growing professional and residential populations of West Soho/Hudson Square.
The new locale is the brainchild of luxury and high-end consumer goods graduates, Travis Ngo and Nicole Rudolph. Both New Yorkers, the enterprise combines a love of fine wines and high touch detail, developed during roles at fine jewellery businesses, John Hardy and David Yurman. The resulting industrial chic space featuring exposed brick and slate finishes, assumes an elegant yet relaxed vibe.
Wine pairings curated by Alex Clifford and spotlighting local New York vineyards will take center stage, complemented by a light menu developed by chef, Lindsay Smith Anton, and an array of local craft beers, both on tap and bottled.
Founder and self-professed wine aficionado, Nicole Rudolph, commented: “Having worked in the neighborhood for several years, I know just how difficult it can be to find the perfect happy hour spot. Both Travis and I wanted to combine our love of luxury, impeccable customer service and fine wines to create a place that encourages wine tasting without elitism.”
Local & Vine is located at 282 Hudson St, in an 1880’s building which previously served as the venue for Saturday Night Live after parties hosted by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.
Long overlooked and underserved, its neighborhood is home to a growing population of residents and professionals coming from a wealth of high-profile and nearby developments, including the latest offering from famed architect, Renzo Piano. Already home to boutique hotels such as the Hugo and Argo, Local & Vine will provide a relaxed yet luxe happy hour alternative.
