March 10, 2023 - Starting @12pm (EST)
For this event, we are fortunate to host three scholars who will discuss this important area of nineteenth-century studies: Kelly Presutti (Moderator), Stephanie O’Rourke, and Marika Takanishi Knowles. Each will give a brief presentation on an object drawn from their research on art and the environment, followed by a discussion and then a Q&A.
With amazing speakers:
Kelly Presutti is Assistant Professor at Cornell University, teaching art history and environmental humanities courses.
Stephanie O’Rourke is a Senior Lecturer in Art History at the University of St Andrews. She specializes in exchanges between artistic production and scientific knowledge in 18th- and 19th-century Europe and its colonial networks.
Marika Takanishi Knowles is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Art History at the University of St Andrews, where she researches and teaches French art of the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries.
