The AHNCA’s Emerging Scholars Working Group is organizing our October salon to discuss new approaches to teaching more inclusive histories of nineteenth-century art and visual culture. Three of our colleagues will participate in our conversation, working on experimental course design and novel approaches to the art historical survey that deviate from geographical, methodological, and material canons. We’ll discuss their achievements and failings in diverse learning situations and how our field may remain relevant in the modern classroom.
