The EarRegulars are led by trumpeter Jon-Erik Kellso and guitarist Matt Munisteri, with guest artists appearing weekly. The music in the play is swinging, melodic classic jazz, which includes everything from New Orleans style to tin pan alley classics, swing era, and mainstream jazz. They don’t perform half-hour solos, but a song can run 10 minutes or more; they like to take their time and explore ensemble improv’, a conversational style.
