Shirley MacLaine replaced Gwen Verdon on stage as Charity Hope Valentine, the lovable cabaret hostess. Highlights from Fosse’s Tony-winning choreography that are featured on the Scope screen include “There’s Got to Be Something Better Than This,” which was performed by Shirley MacLaine, Chita Rivera, and Paula Kelly on a Manhattan rooftop, “Big Spender,” “If They Could See Me Now,” and Fossian riffs on stylish disco dances and psychedelia.
