Gloria de Haven arrives at the family farm, run by Judy Garland’s sister, with her entire theater troupe and fiancé Gene Kelly. Kelly and Garland (engaged to Hollywood’s go-to nebbish Eddie Bracken) fall in love as they rehearse in the barn and earn their keep by working the property. Garland’s legendary “Get Happy” routine, replete with fedora, is shown.
