Garnering praise globally, singer-songwriter Tangina Stone has been championed as a universal breath of fresh air gracing stages from New York to Tokyo, to London, generating highlyacclaimed performances and fortifying a strong following across globe. In 2018, she’s headlined festivals, toured Japan, London and been able to gig freely across the U.S. with her band thanks to her partnership with Spirit Airlines. Her first full-length album Elevate released in 2017 to rave reviews, debuting at #27 on the iTunes Top R&B Albums chart and at #44 on Apple Music Japan Top R&B Albums chart. Led by the infectious single “Anxious,” with almost 1 million combined streams, other standouts like “Exposed” with Nelly Furtado kept Tangina on iTunes Japan Hot Tracks chart for six months. 2 Appropriately titled, Elevate features 13 tracks that combines lyrical mastery with addictive elements of soul, rock, electronic and r&b into an eclectic fusion of musical artistry. It’s also an album executive produced by all women: Tangina Stone, producer Crystal Caines and manager Anastasia Wright, and released independently on Stone’s woman-fronted label, IMG Records. Stone has not only been praised for her quiet, artistic dominance, but as a queer woman of color, she’s been highlighted as a trailblazer in an industry that traditionally has not celebrated artists like her. In summer 2018, Stone stepped outside her “artist” title taking on the role of talent booker for WOMEN/N/SOUND, a concert series for women in music produced by Stone’s label IMG Records in partnership with Airbnb. Stone & the series have received praise from Forbes, PAPER Magazine and more for creating a safe and inclusive platform for female independent artists. Recording daily, Tangina is working on her second, anticipated full-length album for a 2019 release and has a series of collaborative projects releasing fall/ winter 2018.
