Newly formed Brooklyn based Duo – The F-Tones – bridge the gap between popular and classical music. These two passionate Brooklyn locals Marcin Wisniewski, guitar, and Dwayne Beach, 5-string violin, infuse their music with familiar melodies into a unique collage of harmony, melody, and rhythm into a creative and consonant combination.
While the F-Tones many not have came from precocious roots in the arts, their technical virtuosity, easily accessible and relatable musical style awe and inspire the listener. Their music is best described as a captivating fusion of acoustic classical, folk, and world music. Their Polish and Belizean roots have helped create such amazingly dance friendly tunes filled with melodies previously heard, transforming pop into classical, and classical into contemporary pop.
Mylez Gittens, and the F-Tones are part of the Reconnect Series. Hudson Square has partnered with IAH Studio to curate Thursday evenings in June, featuring stringed musicians of color. The Reconnect series features music and an outdoor art gallery/studio on Tuesdays from 12:30pm-2pm and Thursdays from 6pm-7pm, on Little 6th Avenue and Dominick Street.
