Hudson Square Supports Pride

June 21, 2020

Every June, New York City and the world come together to celebrate Pride. This year is the 50th anniversary of NYC Pride March. Due to COVID-19, rather than walking the Manhattan streets, we will be celebrating virtually.

On Friday, June 26th, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm, NYC Pride will produce a virtual rally streamed simultaneously on Facebook and YouTube. The event will be hosted by Ashlee Marie Preston and Brian Michael Smith. Speakers include Ceyenne Doroshow, Annie Segarra, Edafe Okporo, Leandro E. Rodriguez Ramos and many more.

On Sunday, June 28th, 2020 from 12pm to 2pm, ABC will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Pride March, with a special broadcast event. This year, NYC PRIDE will salute front-line workers alongside several leaders in the community being honored as Grand Marshals: Dan Levy, The Ali Forney Center, Yanzi Peng, and Victoria Cruz. The event will also be featuring performances from Janelle Monae, Billy Porter, and many more.

The Hudson Square Business Improvement District supports the LGBTQIA+ community in their pursuit of equality and aim to be a resource for people looking information. Listed below is information about:

While we are by no means done celebrating PRIDE 2020, we definitely miss the full displays we see in Hudson Square each year. Hudson Square has been a hotspot for PRIDE, with local businesses doing their part to be involved.

SquareSpace has put up huge displays to show their support:

While Just Salad has brought back their Just Pride Salad for years now:

In 2018, Shake Shack even introduced a Pride Shake:

While we all must celebrate and practice inclusion throughout all months of the year, we cannot wait for June 2021 to see everyone back celebrating love in full force.
