Freeman Plaza West originally opened in 2013, and underwent a renovation in 2018. An 800-square foot turf lawn, additional seating and umbrellas, Freeman Plaza West is a popular spot in the neighborhood to hang out, clear your mind and let your imagination fly. In light of Covid-19, the space has been modified to accommodate social distancing and to provide the community with more critical outdoor space.
Freeman Plaza West features:
- 900 SF turf lawn
- Solar powered charging station (charge your phone for free!)
- A Little Free Library including books and magazines courtesy of New York Magazine
- Rotating menu of lawn and board games
Freeman Plaza West is open seasonally spring – fall, Mondays – Fridays from 8am-dusk.
There are two entrances on Hudson Street – one near Watts Street the other closer to Broome Street.
