There’s a lot to discover – or rediscover – in Hudson Square.

As the weather changes and its nice to be outside again, being outside in Hudson Square is better than ever thanks to improvements to streets and sidewalks, more public art, and lots of outdoor dining options. Plus there’s an improved cycling network, so getting here is easier and safer.

Cycling to Work

New lanes, and expanded Citi Bike and bike parking.

With numerous bike paths and more options for bike parking, biking to Hudson Square has never been easier.

Increased Citi Bike Footprint

New docks added on Spring + Hudson Streets and King + Varick Streets, while the existing dock on Greenwich + Houston increased capacity with additional parking docks.

More Bike Parking

Using your own bike has become easier. With the addition of 44 new bike racks throughout the neighborhood there are now more than 110 locations throughout Hudson Square.

Outdoor Experiences

Fresh spaces for fresh air, Clarkson St to Canal St.


Spring Street Park, Freeman Plaza East and Freeman Plaza West are open with modifications to accommodate social distancing.


Tuesdays and Thursdays the intersection of Little Sixth Avenue and Dominick Street becomes a pop-up space with music, games, and art. Additionally on Saturdays in June and September there will be music, seating and games for family outings.

Outdoor Dining

Many restaurants offer outdoor dining. Several are part of the Hudson Square program with colorful graphics on the ground, planters, furniture and umbrellas provided by the BID.
